Jessica Simpson's The Price of Beauty Coming Soon to VH1

Jessica Simpson knows a thing or two about beauty, but she wants to know more.

In her new VH1 reality show Jessica Simpson's The Price of Beauty (TV), she's taking her curiosity, and a couple of her closest friends, on a multi-national crusade to find out how different cultures perceive beauty. "There's a lot of pressure to be beautiful, but what defines beauty?" she asks. "I'm going to travel the world and find out what makes women in different cultures feel beautiful."

Jessica is no stranger to those pressures, with her weight, her skin, and even her hygiene under constant media scrutiny. So when she meets with and interviews various women throughout the world, she gets it. "Every single person I have met, I can relate to," she said.

In the first episode, Jessica travels with best friends CaCee Cobb and Ken Paves to Thailand, where they meet up with Sonya, their beauty ambassador in Bangkok. After having a massage, they discuss skin care traditions and visit a tribe of "ring neck women." Jessica also visits a monastery, where she gets a case of the giggles while trying to meditate with a monk.

After Thailand, Jessica and friends visit Japan, France, Brazil, Uganda, Morocco, and India before heading back to Los Angleles. In all locations, she interviews every-day women and pop culture icons to discover beauty secrets and fallacies, and the cultural differences involving the perceptions of beauty.

As the executive producer of the show, Jessica brings to the table other roles that qualify her for the job. She is an established fashion designer, a business woman, and a dedicated volunteer and supporter of Operation Smile International, which enables her to work with children. Her most recent mission was in Nakuru, Kenya where she assisted the volunteers with the medical evaluations of over 280 children who were in need of corrective surgery for facial deformities.

Jessica Simpson's The Price of Beauty (TV) will air on Sundays, beginning March 14th at 10/9c on VH1. Jessica wrote and recorded an original song for the show which will serve as its theme.
