In an all new interview with Men's Journal the Emmy-winning actor Alec Baldwin said that come 2010 he is making a clean break from Hollywood. The 51-year old actor told Men's Journal, "I don't have any interest in acting anymore. I'm not young, but I have time to do something else." So for all of us 30 Rock (TV) junkies, what does that mean for Jack Donaghy?
Fans are not the only ones that stopped and took notice of Alec Baldwin's role as Jack Donaghy in the runaway NBC hit 30 Rock (TV). In the past three years, Baldwin has won two consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy, and two Screen Actor Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series. Tina Fey is good, but without Baldwin does 30 Rock stand a chance?
The actor says he is leaving the business, but does that also mean he is out of future films as well? Well yes, according to his new interview in Men's Journal. Baldwin said, "I consider my entire movie career a complete failure. The goal of moviemaking is to star in a film where your performance drives the film and the film is either a soaring critical or commercial success, and I never had that." Sorry Baldwin, I think millions of fans would have to beg to differ on this one.
