The Beautiful Life (TV) was given half a second before it was nixed while fan favorite Southland (TV) didn't have a chance to get out from the starting gate before NBC cut it. Times are tough these days, not only are banks closing at rapid paces, many promising network shows are getting the boot due to poor viewership. A slew of new shows have been handed their walking papers and some might be surprised to see who won't be returning to your television.

Joss Whedon's Dollhouse (TV) was Fox's prized possession last year and much of that had to do with lead actress Eliza Dushku. It was announced this week by Fox that Dollhouse (TV) will not continue past the thirteen episodes already slated to air. Eliza Dushku has much respect for her fans and wanted them to hear the news from her first before the media whirlwind had its turn. The star tweeted, "Hear it here. Hey, that's really why I started twitter, the rumors/news IS true: Dollhouse will not cont. past these 13 eps :( BUT... There's always a but... I can't express enough-- this has been one of the MOST rewarding experiences of my career. Thank you guys!"

It was a short run for ladies of ABC' Eastwick (TV) as ABC has announced that after thirteen episodes they have dropped the show. Eastwick (TV) has deep roots, based on the John Updike novel "The Witches of Eastwick," the novel was turned into a feature film in 1987 starring Jack Nicholson, Susan Sarandon, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Cher. ABC gave new life to the long lived witches tale in 2009 when Rebecca Romijn and Lindsay Price to lead this tale. Sadly, ABC has decided to not pick up any new episodes and fans and executive producer Maggie Friedman are not happy at all. Telling EW.com, "I’m pretty furious, too. We have such an amazing group of writers and actors -- best people I’ve ever worked with. None of us can believe this is really happening.”
It has also been announced that Hank (TV) the series starring Kelsey Grammer has been cut from the ABC lineup. With all these pink slips flying around, Hollywood is on edge as they wind down the fall television season. In the midst of all the cancellations, The CW has announced that they have picked up Life UneXpected (TV), a story about a foster child looking to become emancipated. Remember to keep watching and stay tuned for more updates.
