The online petitions, the letters to NBC, and the sheer volume of fans were not enough to help Robert Pattinson score a seat as a host of Saturday Night Live. After Twilight blew up last November, fans began clamoring about the sexy British actor hosting the late night variety show.
We are getting official word today from executive producer Lorne Michaels. Michaels said, "We’re all locked in with hosts for this year. Not this season.” Before you get super bummed NBC giant Lorne did provide some hopeful comments about Robert Pattinson hosting SNL.
Twilight fans should see this as both good and bad news. The bad news is that Robert won't be hosting this year but the good news is that Lorne Michaels said that he is a possible in the future. Looking back on SNL host history, it would be a safe bet to say that if RPattz did host, it will be next November when The Twilight Saga: New Moon premieres.
High School Musical star Zac Efron was so hot when he played Troy Bolton and Link Larkin in Hairspray, but it took his new role as Mike O'Donnell in 17 Again to score the coveted hosting role. Look at Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe; he is uber popular with fans, made a name for himself on Broadway, but has yet to host SNL. (Of course, we don't know if this is by choice or not.) We are hoping that we get to see the comic side of Robert Pattinson next year if he hosts Saturday Night Live!
