After weeks of painful auditions, bickering judges, and thousands of hopeful American Idol's, we are finally down to the Top 36. One of these lucky 36 will join the ranks of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, and recent winner David Cook. With the help from the four judges, Simon Cowell, Paula Adbul, Randy Jackson, and Kara DioGuardi, lives will be changed forever during season eight of American Idol.
Our favorite split personality Nick Mitchell/Norman Gentle made the cut along with Puerto Rico native Jorge Nunez-Mendez and oil rig roughneck Michael Sarver. For the Top 36, their Idol journey has only begun and they face weeks of long nights, harsh criticism and for one, a dream come true when they are crowned season eight's American Idol.
