CSI: Crime Scene Investigation star Marg Helgenberger finally received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 23rd January 2012. Marg was honoured with the 2,458th star near to her former co-star and colleague, William Petersen. In fact, hers is two stars away. She was presented with the star in front of many of her family and friends; including CSI colleagues such as Anthony Zuiker, Jerry Bruckheimer, Robert David Hall, Eric Szmanda, Liz Vassey, Marc Vann et al. Jorja Fox and her China Beach co-star Dana Delaney were also on hand to speak on Marg's behalf.
Marg leaves the CSI show in her final performance seen on 25th January 2012 in the second of a two part story: Willows in the Wind. Though fans will be sad to see her go, they shouldn't despair as Marg has the way open for her if she wants to guest in an episode or two. Said Marg, "That was one of the reasons why it was a little easier for me to leave the show because the producers said to me practically everyday, 'the door is wide open.'" In a defiant gesture, she told fans, "You haven't seen the last of me."
In 2006, Marg's hometown of North Bend, Nebraska named a street in her honour, Helgenberger Avenue. Marg's son, Hugh Howard Rosenberg now serves as a production assistant on CSI - that's keeping the show in The Family. Goodbye Catherine Willows: we'll miss ya!
