
The record breaking New Moon played to jammed packed theaters this past weekend and fans couldn't get enough of Edward (Robert Pattinson), Bella (Kristen Stewart), and Jacob(Taylor Lautner). The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) took home over $140M, making it the third biggest opening ever next to Spider-Man 3 (2007) with $151M and The Dark Knight (2008) with $158M. Just on opening weekend alone, New Moon surpassed some of the most highly anticipated films of 2009 such as Angels & Demons (2009), Inglourious Basterds (2009), and District 9 (2009). Thanksgiving week is upon on which means turkey and stuffing, family and friends, and big numbers for movie theaters nationwide. Statistically, Thanksgiving is a big movie weekend so it will be interesting to see how well New Moon does during the long weekend break.
