It's All About Zac Efron as Me & Orson Welles Opens

Sure, Zac Efron was popular for his work on the Disney franchise High School Musical (2006) but his new role has everyone stopping to take notice. His upcoming drama Me And Orson Welles (2009) stars Claire Danes (The Family Stone (2005), Temple Grandin (2010)) and Ben Chaplin (Murder by Numbers (2002), Dorian Gary (2009). Proving that he has comic chops was a breeze for Efron in 17 Again (2009) but this new role has Efron trying something fans have not seen before and there is a lot at stake for the young actor. Me & Orson Welles opens December 4th and Zac has been busy on the press tour hyping up the new film.

The small Isle of Man was the shooting location for this film but that did not stop fans from flocking to catch a glimpse at Hollywood's new "it" actor. Located in between Great Britain and Ireland, Efron along with the cast and crew told a story about a young actor Richard Samuels (Zac Efron) who landed a dream role in "Julius Caesar" directed by the famed Orson Welles. The romantic coming of age film tracks the progress of the play for one week and throughout that week we see how and why the characters interact.

At a recent press conference in LA, Efron opened up about being excited to shoot on location in the middle of the nowhere. Efron stated, "The idea of going to a fairly secluded place and to fly away for a couple of weeks... I was so excited to leave all the attention behind." The anonymity was short lived and when Efron arrived on set he was greeted by screaming fans, the actor said, "It's incredibly endearing and cool that they would do that kind of thing for you. I'm very grateful." Hollywood is in dire need of the next young leading man and if all goes well on opening weekend, Zac Efron will slide into the role perfectly.
