Behing the Scenes of The Twilight Saga: New Moon

The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) is just a mere 11 days away and fans are being teased daily with news from the actors and movie tidbits. Yesterday, Summit released for our viewing pleasure a full ten minutes of behind the scenes footage for New Moon. There are three main scenes they are giving us a glimpse into. The first scene is when Bella (Kristen Stewart) confronts the members of the wolf pack, demanding to know what is wrong with Jacob (Taylor Lautner). The second scene is the infamous birthday scene where Bella gives herself a paper cut and entices Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) to try attacking her. The third scene is Edward (Robert Pattinson) fighting with Felix (Daniel Cudmore).

Bella knows Jacob is scared and that he is not telling her something very important. She has come to trust him and rely on him and it is hurting her to not know what is happening to him. Bella confronts Paul, Sam, and the other members of the wolf pack. She pushes Sam and yells at Paul causing him to react rashly and phase in front of her. Jacob comes running out of the house to get her away from Paul and he also phases. In the behind the scenes footage, we get to see Kristen working with the stunt coordinator and Taylor running out of the house several times. There is also a shot of Taylor hooked to cables that shows off his amazing physique.

The birthday party for Bella is supposed to be one of Alice’s (Ashley Greene) big coups considering Bella does not like celebrations where she is in the spotlight. There are beautifully wrapped gifts and cake. As Alice is snapping pictures, Bella is unwrapping her presents. On one present she accidentally cuts her finger and Jasper, who is still fairly new to the "vegetarian" diet of the Cullen’s, starts to run toward her. Luckily, he is restrained by his father, Carlise (Peter Facinelli), and brother, Emmett (Kellan Lutz). In the footage for this scene, we get to see Jackson, Peter, and Kellan working the timing and footing for stopping Jasper from getting to Bella. We also get to see a heart breaking moment when Edward comes to a decision. The pain showing on his face is enough to bring tears to your eyes.

Felix is a big, mean henchman and Edward stands up to him to protect Bella. In this scene, Edward is being tossed about like a ragdoll by one of the Volturi’s best vampire enforcers. Edward is in Italy meeting with the Volturi due to a misunderstanding and Bella comes to try and stop Edward from making a horrible, tragic, mistake. With break away steps that hit Robert and going from street clothes to character clothes we get to see how involved these two actors are in being really mad at each other and wanting to kill the other.

The behind the scene footage allows us to glimpse the hard work put into bringing us this long anticipated movie. Seeing all that the actors put into making the scene as real as possible is awesome. With 11 more days until we can sit in the darkened theatre and experience all that The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) has to offer, these 10 minutes are a true gift.
