It wouldn't be Twilight (2008) if it didn't come with continuous rumors and speculation of new cast members for The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009). It's fair to say that at this point Dakota Fanning is official, but now there is talk about a fairly unknown actress, Brenda Lee Roth, who has gone uncredited in many blockbuster hits.
Today's talk has been largely attributed to Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning starring in an unrelated movie after New Moon. In other news, Tina Fey was seen on a nighttime talk show where she called Robert Pattinson a "sexy devil." It was all laughs for the crowd, but I can't help but think Mickey Rourke must be feeling left out.
Most of you probably already know that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010) has a release date for June of 2010. Filming has just started for New Moon while is expected to hit theaters on November 20, 2009. With the dates so close together, we've been watching closely to see who will grab the role of director for Eclipse. We know Chris Weitz wants his brother to do it, and nepotism certainly isn't out of the question; personally, I'd love to see Drew Barrymore get the job. She is nothing if not dedicated, intelligent, and a true master of the arts.
We know that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have signed a three movie contract with Summit and we can only speculate that Taylor Lautner, Nikki Reed, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone have, or will be, doing the same. After the whole Taylor Lautner recasting debacle late last year, one can pretty much bet that Summit will not be replacing any of the main characters in the story.
