Exclusive Interview: Crowley Brothers (Intro, Pics), Pt. I

(Left to Right: Travis, Brian, Jeffrey, Eva)

There's something very special about the Crowley Brothers, and I don't just mean their music.

This being our first interview conducted via video chat, we had some technical issues to work out when we first connected with them online.  What did the Crowley's do in the meantime?  They sang!  They played on the piano!  They joked around and laughed together!  And when we thought we were finally ready to get started, they all joined around the camera with big, happy smiles on their faces.

And it wasn't because they were talking to us.  Honestly, the impression we got was that they were engaging in what was very normal behavior for them, as if we weren't even there.  To see such a rare moment -- of life inside the Crowley house -- was truly an enchanting experience.  It's really no wonder people gravitate toward them; they exude a warmth and charm that is infectious!

The bond between them is quite remarkable, and a real testament to their parents, who have raised a beautiful and loving family.  Ask them what their "best day ever" was and they'll tell you it was the day their little sister, Eva, was born.  And they'll genuinely mean it.  And as you'll see in the video below, she's clearly the little princess of the family.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves; we approached the Crowley Brothers because their music caught our attention, in a big way.  They've covered dozens of singers and bands, in a diverse group of genres, and they have the ability to really capture and express emotions that will move you to tears, inspire you to laughter, or both.

They'll probably never be able to escape comparison to Jonas Brothers, but if I could borrow some words from Jeffrey, the youngest of the three, and use them to describe the Crowley Brothers instead, I'd say they were "very talented vocalists, performers, and musicians."  They have a natural, raw talent that could very well shoot them to superstardom!

So, who are these amazing three that I speak of so fondly?  Find out below...

About the Crowley's

(Left to Right: Brian, Travis, Jeffrey)

The Crowley Brothers describe themselves as "a trio of brothers who hail from New York."  They're all vocalists for the group, each with individual voices that blend with each other, creating a signature sound of three-part harmonies.  Travis is the group's self-taught guitarist, as well as pianist.  Jeffrey also plays the piano, having taught himself by ear.  Together, they create original sounding covers of pop songs that they post on YouTube.

During the weekends, the three work for a company as celebrity impersonators!  You can actually see all three of them dressed up and playing Jonas Brothers. They also plays stars from High School Musical (2006); Brian plays Troy (Zac Efron) and Travis plays Ryan (Lucas Grabeel).  They will talk more about this in the interview and we have some pictures to share with you as well.

They're all very big Disney Channel fans, something they've shared often with their fans.  They claim it's always on, even if it is just playing as background noise, and they use their little sister, Eva, as an excuse, but it does expose them to positive role models such as Selena Gomez and David Henrie from Wizards of Waverly Place (TV), Miley Cyrus and Emily Osment from Hannah Montana (TV), and Brenda Song, Dylan Sprouse, and Cole Sprouse from Suite Life on Deck (TV).

As for the three of them...

If you just followed Jeffrey's tweets, you'd think he was your normal, funny, fifteen-year-old kid (seriously, some of his tweets are laugh-out-loud funny), but there is clearly much more to him than that.  He's extremely articulate; ask him a question, and he'll give you a thorough and thoughtful response.  His brothers describe him as "extremely loyal, who is really kind, and has a big heart."

Travis will be graduating from high school this year and has already been accepted into Georgia Tech and Florida State University.  His passion for music extends to playing trumpet in the school's jazz band and clarinet in the concert band.  It seems the old stereotype of being "nerdy" for playing in band has escaped Travis, who always seems to be wearing a baseball cap sideways and admired by his peers for his sharp wit.  When one of his fans asked him "if he was ghetto," his response was, "as ghetto as suburban white kids can be."

And finally we come to the oldest of the three, Brian, who the family secretly calls "Peter Pan" because he tends to be "goofy" (as they put it) and "will never grow up."  His personality and charm have a way of appealing to others who find it easy to open up to him, in the most random of circumstances.  At only nineteen years old, he's already had some pretty amazing experiences.  He's been to Paris twice; once during high school as part of a student exchange, and again to study Art History in Southern France.  In college, he is majoring in "Media, Society & the Arts" which focuses on social sciences with a concentration in the arts and pop culture.

Crowley Family Community Service

(Crowley Family at Epcot)

The Crowley's are a close-knit family that do all kinds of things together.  In the picture to the left, you can see them all at the Epcot Center!

Over Christmas, Travis bought his mother concert tickets to see Muse, her favorite band, which the two of them saw together in March.

Last year, they went to The Princess and the Frog (2009) premiere at the Ziegfeld Theater and attended an after party with the stars, which also included a large Disney archive gallery, something they were all tweeting about while in attendance!

In keeping in line with the spirit of giving, they also volunteered for the "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" program through the non-profit organization Blossom International.  They helped to restore and update the historic InfoAge Science & History Center by "organizing donations with a group of very giving and wonderful people."

They put together a video montage of their day, which can be seen below.

You can visit the Crowley Brothers profile to see an example of a verified profile.  In this way, you'll know when something is genuinely posted by them.  We want to thank the Crowley's for participating!  Stay tuned for more details in the near future.

Our Interview with the Crowley's

There's so much to share about the Crowley Brothers and their family that are introduction became an article all its own!  (And that was after leaving so much out!)  Our interview with them was conducted via video chat (using Skype) and has been broken up into nine videos; it ends with a special performance by the Crowley Brothers -- the Muse song, "I Belong to You" -- from The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) soundtrack.

Check out Part II - Video Interview for the rest of our coverage on the Crowley Brothers!
