David Schwimmer, best known for his role as quirky paleontologist Dr. Ross Gellar on NBC's hit show Friends (TV), is getting hitched. "Yes, he's engaged," the actor/director's rep confirmed to Entertainment Weekly. David, 43, and his British girlfriend, photographer Zoe Buckman, 24, have been dating for the past three years. The two reportedly met while David was in London filming Run, Fatboy, Run (2008), which he directed in 2007. Although no wedding date has been announced, the couple have hinted that it will be soon. This will be the first marriage for both.
David has kept a low profile since leaving Friends (TV), developing film projects, writing, and working as an ensemble member of The Lookingglass Theater Company, which he co-founded in Chicago. He continues to act and direct in productions like Our Town, The Jungle, West, Eye of the Beholder, and more.
David is currently wrapping up production on his latest film, a dark drama called Trust (2010), which he wrote and co-directed. The film stars Clive Owen and Catherine Keener, and will be hitting the festival circuit later this year. David is also presenting Trust as a play at the Lookingglass Theater this spring.
Good things seem to be coming together for our friend, Mr. Schwimmer.
Our best to the happy couple!
