World AIDS Day is observed every December 1st to help raise awareness and educate the population about the HIV infection. According to UNAIDS, there are 33.4 million people living with HIV -- including 2.1 million children. The first ever World AIDS Day started back in 1988 to help raise money, raise awareness, fight prejudices, and improve education.
Every year there is a theme that is tied into World AIDS Day and this year is it "Universal Access and Human Rights." By wearing red on December 1st, you will be reminding yourself and those around you that together we fight for change. And on Twitter, you can put the hash tag #red in your tweets to turn them red as a sign of support! Gym Class Heroes' front man Travis McCoy has teamed up with MTV to bring his message and his experiences to MTV worldwide.
Gym Class Heroes' front man Travis McCoy will premiere his documentary on World AIDS Day on MTV channels around the world.
