We are hours away from A.J. Burnett throwing out the first pitch of Game 2 of the 2009 World Series at Yankee Stadium and the fans are already lining up to get into the stadium. Last night, security was on high alert as First Lady Michelle Obama and Joe Biden, among other famed New York celebrities, chow down on hot dogs while enjoying America's favorite past time. We saw 30 Rock star Alec Bladwin cheering on his hometeam, Matthew McConaughey sporting the pinstripe, movie directors Spike Lee and Steven Spielberg enjoying first class seats.
Even all that celebrity power could not help the Yankees overcome the unstoppable Phillies team. The New York Yankees are ready to again take on the Philadelphia Phillies at home in what many are calling the Turnpike Series. In the greater New York Area, Yankee fans are jazzed about the series and much of the hype is all thanks to a song written by David Brody over at Z100.
The Yankees had the talent, they had the comeback pies, but they were still missing something. They needed a power anthem to help juice them up for games and during the playoffs. New York hit music station Z100 provided a monster anthem. The song, Yankees Run This Town, is a play on Jay-Z and Rihanna hit song Run This House. In fact, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys are set to perform their hit song Empire State of Mind, tonight during Game 2 of the World Series.
If baseball bores you, don't worry, the World Series has so much more to offer. You can play "Where's the Celebrities" during commercials and chances are you will see How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days star Kate Hudson cheering on her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez, or if you look really close you will see Minka Kelly, star of Friday Night Lights and girlfriend of Derek Jeter. Besides those series regulars, you will get all the big names to come out and show their support like Donald Trump, Kelly Ripa, Regis Philbin, and many more. So endure the endless inning and try to have some fun spotting the celebs while cranking up the new hot Yankee anthem.
