The sexy, confident and ever mysterious Robert Pattinson hit Cannes yesterday and made a splash in the seaside French town. Cannes is the biggest film festival of the year but all anyone is talking about is the Twilight star and the breaking news he brought with him. Can you guess what juicy secret Pattinson dropped that had all of Cannes begging for more?
Yes, all the rumors are true. Robert Pattinson confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final book in the Stephenie Meyer series, will be turned into a major motion picture. The cast and crew are currently filming The Twilight Saga: New Moon which is due out in November and in the summer of 2010 The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will hit theaters. So, if they keep on schedule, do you think that we will see The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn in the fall of 2010? Who cares when it comes; at least we know it is coming!
As for his role in New Moon, Rob's character is not physically present a lot throughout the film but his presence is always felt. Rob was recently asked about his character at Cannes and he remarked, "You're playing a figment in Bella's imagination, so I was trying to do it in a 2-D way. I hope it doesn't translate onscreen as being boring." Rob has a very difficult task in New Moon, but even if he does come off in a 2-D way, we will still all love him. In a recent interview Rob said, "Edward is a voice in Bella's head," which is what prompted him to worry about him coming off two-dimentionally.
Currently living it up in Cannes, Rob is posing for seaside photos, spilling Twilight secrets, and swooning the suits. This summer Rob is set to begin filming Summit's new romantic film Remember Me in New York City. At this time, no female lead has been cast but that has not stopped the rumormill from running on overdrive. Some are reporting Joe Jonas's girlfriend Camilla Belle will score the role as others watch closely as Summit begins the casting process. After a stint in Cannes, Rob is off to Italy to finish filming New Moon.
