VirtualStar Entertainment Suite is a group of entertainment properties offering original news, deep industry information, exciting events, and innovative features, allowing visitors of all ages and demographics to bridge together with the celebrities, movies, music, and television shows that they love to talk about and share with others.
All of our properties are deeply integrated within our proprietary platform to form a unique collection of websites; each website within the suite focuses on a specific entertainment vertical. PopStar (Celebrities), RadioStar (Music), ScreenStar (Movies), and TVStar (Television) form the core of our suite, while VirtualStar serves as our corporate home and distinctive social network.
We offer our visitors a unique experience that allow them to engage with our diverse and interactive features, as well as with one another. We are always expanding our suite and with the help of our first-rate relationships, and our well-versed writing team, we are able to stay on the cutting edge of technology and entertainment.
Please take some time to learn about our features, discover the many relationships we have nurtured, explore our merchant opportunities, and meet our diverse management team and staff of writers. If you have any questions, please feel free to Contact Us.
Since our founding in 2007, we have always held ourselves to a much higher ethical standard than can be found on most, if not all, other properties within our vertical. We strongly believe in putting the word "celebration" back into the meaning of "celebrity."
We strongly discourage disparagement of others, including celebrities, and are very proactive in our approach, screening all content posted by our members. We take this so seriously that if we think we're edging too close, we'll consult our colleagues to get their opinions on the situation.
At times, we have been called on this philosophy, stating we discourage free speech and only espouse one side of a story, that we even lack objectivity. When it comes to such subjective matters, we'll leave that for the philosophers to decide.
For us, it's simply that we believe very strongly that the Internet does not have to be broken down to its lowest common denominator – we believe there is a better way, and that way is through common decency and respect for all.
Along with our many exiting features, we also work night and day to bring both creative and original content to our suite, ranging from Celebrity Biographies & Interviews, Movie Previews & Reviews (Theater and DVD Releases), Music Reviews (Singles and Albums), TV Show Reviews (Seasons, Series, and Episodes), along with an assortment of other entertainment news on a very broad range of topics. Below breaks down our features by property.
Studios: Paramount Pictures, Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox, Lowes MGM, Disney, Sony Pictures, Samuel Goldwyn, The Weinstein Company, Summit Entertainment, Magnolia Pictures, and many others.
Networks: MTV Networks, CBS, Fox, The CW, Nickelodeon Networks, Disney, NBC Universal
Publicity: PMK/HBH Public Relations, B|W|R, Special Ops Media, Falco Ink, Palisades Media Group
Fan Sites: Another partnership that we value are the relationships we share with many of the leading online fan sites, too numerous to name here.
Social Networks: We are active on all of the most popular social networks, keeping our users engaged and up to speed on all of the things we are doing. Whether it is breaking entertainment news or just fun links we have come across throughout the day, we love to share. From Twitter to Facebook, we provide a fun atmosphere that all of our fans really enjoy.
Each of our properties maintains a separate feed at the IMDb NewsDesk, which allow a snippet of our articles to appear across many of IMDb's pages. This allows us to reach a very broad and targeted demographic that has come looking for specific news that we are able to cater and tailor to at any given time.
All of our properties are also listed on Google News. Each of these feeds helps to drive targeted traffic to our sites on a daily basis and also gives us the greatest imaginable flexibility in shaping our traffic to meet many different needs.
We are in the market of exploring new opportunities that would allow our news platform to grow and diversify. With a staff of experienced industry writers and positive original content, we feel that we would be a valuable asset for other entertainment news sources. Please Contact Us if you are interested in exploring these possibilities.
As a general rule, we will not engage in the practice of link exchanges. Google's Webmaster Guidelines strictly prohibit them, with very good reason, when they are used for the purpose of manipulating search engine rankings.
We have grown our properties organically without the need for such tactics and encourage others to do the same. We receive such offers regularly and do not respond to them. As you can see, our Core Values extend to every part of our business model.
With that said, there is one exception to this rule, which does not conflict with our values or Google's: Exchanges for the purpose of sharing targeted traffic. We will only do so with the highest-quality websites in this regard, which currently consists only of TV Guide.
Our reciprocal relationship with TV Guide allows us to share traffic between our properties and theirs – with links ranging in the many hundreds of thousands. We are very proud of the unique and beneficial exchange we have created with them and would consider doing so only with the very best.
One of the more unique aspects of our suite is the in-site economy we have called MyStar Points. Members earn points through a variety of different activities across all five of our websites; they are then able to use these points to bid on free merchandise in our very popular and active Auction System, created solely for our own internal platform.
Merchants of all shapes and sizes donate their merchandise to us to give away to our fans in exchange for free exposure of their products. We are always seeking out the hottest new products for our members, among which include:
All merchants are given a sponsorship page where visitors can learn more about their company and the products they offer. We can even grant access to an editor where merchants can keep their page updated. You won't find this kind of exposure anywhere else!
And for merchants who make significant contributions, we also write up a detailed and comprehensive review of the product(s) that are featured in our news and with each of their listed auctions, exposing your product to tens of thousands of visitors.
Every merchant mails their products to us and we photograph and create individual auction pages for them. We burden all costs of shipping, so the only expense to the merchant is in the form of the merchandise they are willing to donate, plus the initial shipping cost to our KY office.
